In 2013, GT Radial established two new Research & Development centers in the United States and Germany, adding to the three existing centers in China, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom to enhance global R&D capabilities. With a team of over 600 experienced R&D engineers working across five R&D centers, GT Radial continues to strengthen its competitive edge and brand position to become a market leader. In addition to conducting in-house research and development, GT Radial also collaborates with leading research institutions and universities worldwide.
GT Radial’s Research & Development staff come from 20 different countries, creating a diverse atmosphere with cumulative knowledge and expertise. Combined with state-of-the-art equipment and methodologies, GT Radial is able to develop product-oriented technologies for high and sustainable profitability while simultaneously exploring new market opportunities.
GT Radial has made significant investments in its European tire testing facility, located at the internationally recognized MIRA Ltd Proving Ground (formerly known as the Motor Industry Research Association) in Warwickshire, near Birmingham, United Kingdom. The ETC (European Technical Center) is staffed with experienced testing and development personnel to provide development and evaluation capabilities for GT Radial’s Research & Development centers in China.

Our tire testing center is RDW & KAN accredited and operates under the strict ISO 17025 framework. Equipped with a state-of-the-art indoor laboratory system and our own proving ground, we validate every aspect of performance—safety, comfort, efficiency, and durability. If outdoor testing is successful, the tires are sent to one or more GT Radial Testing Tracks located in China (Anhui and Taiwan), the United Kingdom, and Finland (for winter tires). At these testing tracks, experienced drivers put the tires through various stages to measure:
